Charles Laib Bitton‘s paintings focus on fostering an emotional dialogue between the viewer and the artwork. His approach invites a direct and visceral connection with the image, bypassing intellectual dissection. Bitton’s practice embraces and reflects the complexities of human existence, emphasizing vulnerability and authenticity in the mundane. Bitton’s art seeks to strip away artifice, presenting unrefined and honest depictions of humanity. He draws inspiration from intimate, unidealized moments, often exploring sensations tied to the human condition. Bitton trained at the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf (2018-2022) and the Akademie der Bildenden Künste, Vienna (2016-2018). Notable residencies include the Van Gogh Huis Museum in Zundert (2019) and the Kala Art Institute in Berkeley (2017). His solo exhibitions include “Fringe” at Basho’s Promise, Florence (2024), and “The Silver Medallion” at Super Super Markt, Berlin (2023).
